the kids are alright.

Once upon a time, we had a cold, snowy day.

It was much more enjoyable to some, than others.

Pieces of Me

I live a very weird life.

I'm a mom with a full time job....

and I'm single.

So, I'm full on mommy when I have my kids.

And then my life completely changes when I don't have my kids. I'm suddenly split in half and am single. It's very strange.

Breakfast for one and too much time on my hands.

Up early today.... 3:30am kind of early.

Mallory is sick. I'm tired.

But the day will go on, and I'm drinking lots of coffee. I'm already looking forward to sleeping tonight.

I think breakfast will be my big meal of the day today, this steak/eggs/asperagus combination is my new favorite.

Six.

Mallory turned six yesterday.

Six.

It seems like such a big number. She seems like such a big girl.

She's taken on so much, so well. And I'm so proud of her.

She spent the day laughing with friends, decorating cookies, and singing karaoke. Basically, all the things six year old girls do.

I looked on in awe.

Tonight I'm drinking chamomile, eating cold pancakes with honey, and thinking about how amazing my children are.

Time goes on.

Sometimes it's hard.

We've moved past the holidays now, with a bit of stress, and into the New Year. I'm greatly hoping (and assuming) that 2012 is going to be a MUCH better year)

I'll home sick from work today and I'll be back in a few with my birthday update, and updates on a few other things.
